Wheel Alignment Adjustment
The manufacturer determines which alignment angles are adjustable. The vehicle manufacturer provides alignment adjustment mechanisms based on need and
probability. This is determined as the vehicle is designed. There are a variety of adjustment mechanisms, including shims, cams, threaded rods and
a slotted frame. These adjustments generally provide enough movement, providing height is correct, to bring the vehicle into specification.
The CARQUEST Chassis Wheel Alignment Specifications Guide is an excellent resource
for providing the correct manufacturers' specifications for alignment adjustment. These specifications include:
Chassis Height
Caster
Camber

Turning Angle
SAI / IA (Steering Axis Inclination)
Ball Joint Specifications
