CARQUEST Chassis Parts

Some steering and suspension parts can fail prematurely, leading to handling problems for the consumer and comebacks for the technician. In addition, the location and design of some chassis parts make them difficult to replace in a service bay. CARQUEST Chassis Parts' innovative features and specific problem-solving designs make them the perfect choice for technicians and vehicle owners. Sealed and serviceable, these durable parts ensure long life and dependability – which means fewer comebacks.

CARQUEST rotational chassis parts - ball and socket designs - are made up of all-metal housings and studs. To make these two pieces work together, bearings are placed inside to reduce wear and allow for smooth movement. Since all parts wear, a way to eliminate the excess play caused by wear must be designed into the part. If not, the pounding under load can drastically decrease the life of the components.

CARQUEST Chassis uses a patented assembly process that pushes the cover plate into grooves cut into the housing. This process controls and sets the axial tolerances. Between the cover plate and the metal "gusher" bearing is a Belleville washer which continually adjusts for wear. This Belleville washer is conical in shape, and flexes as needed to keep the stud and bearing firmly in contact. This exclusive process virtually eliminates all up and down (axial) movement between the stud and the bearings.
