I ordered this and the comparable lift support for the right side of the hood of a 1993 Toyota Camry XLE V6. The pair arrived quickly and were appropriately packaged. Installation took about four minutes per side (if that) consisting of removing one bolt from the firewall, removing the other end from the stud attached to the hood (held in place by a spring clip), and then putting the new strut in place in the reverse order. In my car, the original firewall anchor on the left side (i.e. the driver’s side) also had a place for a wire harness to clip onto, which was not available on the StrongArm replacement. So once everything is unbolted, you’ll need to take the wire harness off of the original firewall anchor. If necessary, you can use a zip tie to hold the harness in place, or you can simply let the wire harness hang.
Now my hood stays up, and that’s all there is to say. The lift supports have been in service for about a month with no signs of defects or any other problems. I’d buy these again.
